I didn't see much point waiting for the UI to be done to start getting feedback on shields, so here they are.

As you cannot currently flip shield modes(no UI) I have provided you with two alternate builds.

Each shield can take 150pts of damage.
Shield in charge mode regenerates 10 damage per second.

Each autocannon does 2 shield damage per salvo
Each beam turret does 25 shield damage per salvo


Version with just maintain shields

This has infinite fuel.


Version with front shield charging.
Side shields eat 1 fuel per second(each)
Front shield eats 10 fuel per second
Ship has 500 fuel

Bug with forward/reverse being flipped has been fixed
I think you bug fixed the wrong keys. It was CourseUp & CourseDown that were & still are reversed, not accelerate / decelerate; which are now flipped as well. PS decelerate is mis-spelled in the input.

The camera controls in the default view(F1) feel incredibly weird being reversed on both axis. Its also way to sensitive.

edit: something really weird with the camera controls in the default view, when i try to right click and drag straight up and down to tilt the camera's pitch it moves in odd circular motions and doesn't move at all how you would expect it to.

:lol: Yeah. Camera system is some of the oldest, nastiest code I have. It's followed me across multiple projects.

I'm going to use this as the excuse to re-write it.

Build in first post updated.

Free look camera mode no longer exists. Default camera mode is now the new follow mode (F1). Chase mode (F2) still functions as before.

Left Shift is now setup as an alt-button. When in follow mode shift + horizontal mouse movement will rotate the camera.


All other reported bugs fixed.

At the risk of being cheeky, could you throw out a quick post if you find nothing wrong?

Its difficult to decide when the current build is stable and if I should continue development without feedback!

As there has been no further input, I'm going to assume nothing extra has been found.

I'll be pushing on to UI development.

It got a usb port, but it won't be accepted. Other projects?

Sorry for the delay, just check the latest version, all the controls are corrected now. View controls are less fustrating.
