View Full Version : Resists - How much damage reduction do they actually offer?

What the subject says, any idea how much damage reduction the resists actually offer?

So is it even worth it to stack everything to 130+ like I have atm.

I've been wondering this myself...

seen a few things on the forum, found these and no one argued them to be wrong

120 = 20% Dr
140= 30% Dr
160 = 35% Dr
180= 45% Dr
200 = 55% Dr
220= 65% Dr
240 = 75% Dr

As in 100 is base

Also found this on the official forum:

100 resist = 50% damage reduction or 100% more life
200 resist = 66% damage reduction or 200% more life
300 resist = 75% damage reduction or 300% more life
400 resist = 80% damage reduction or 400% more life

I think this might be accurate as the Jericho Missiles are doing barely any damage at all from what they should do when hitting 0 resists, my thermal resist is ~170.
But I haven't tested it so I could be wrong aswell, just from what I have seen the missiles do on myself.

damage getting through = 100 / (100+res) x 100%

The only stuff that can go beyond 100 resist are the fighters? Can you even get close to 200?

Tier 4 can probably get resists over 100 because they get 4 passive slots, so you can stack a lot of resist stuff.

Below is what I got and my Epic active resist module gives +36.4 resists to those, could go a bit higher if I got lucky and found some Epic armor resist mods I guess.
Aren't the resist higher on higher tiers? Can propably hit 200 on atleast on resists at T4?

Since we are all focused on t1/t2.... it is better just to get HP or is it worth to get resist as well?

Will check my t3 later on... see if they get higher resist then t2.

According to that spreadsheet linked here, the +hull modules seem to give way more effective HP than resists but if you are running in squad with remote reps then I would guess that resists would be better but I suppose if they don't give enough damage reduction then you will end up dying too fast without that much hull HP.

the higher your regen the better resists are. e.g. on my t2 interceptors with 35% shield regen mod and implant i stack resists on shield.

damage getting through = 100 / (100+res) x 100%

So 50 points of resistance is 33.3% in Eve terms?

So basically boosting resists above 100 is a waste of slots.

pratell

so plugging a 30 pt EM hole in your shields with a couple of faction barriers reduces EM damage by 70%. (30 pt hole is 42% extra damage, 42 pt buffer is 30% redux).

Swapped 18 resists for +45% Hull Mod on my Phobos Aura now, propably a lot better.

Yeap, seems so, unless you get a squad comp out then you might want to head towards the 150.

And here I've been thinking they were %-numbers. Time for a re-implant and refit. :P

Anyone else got this bug?

http://stigez.com/sc/watresists.jpg

All other ships show +30 from the skill like it should be, that was even before I unlocked that shipped so no modules fitted.

idk, I think it's a bonus trait for that line of ships. the Steel Harpy also has this resist bonus.

You are right :o

Weird considering it doesn't seem to be meantioned in anywhere.
And only seems to be for the two T1 ships aswell.
